MW2 or Halo?

Ok this may sound like a silly Question but when Halo first come out i LOVED it, and just couldnt get on with COD4, then i got more and more into cod to find i hated halo but ive always been curious to see how i would get on with halo again just for a laugh i suppose.

I do enjoy a good shoot-em-up. so anyway the reason for this topic is i found this Video:-

And yea Halo Reach, now i really fancy playing this, looks Fantastic, (custom characters love that, like the first one)

just wondered what were all your opinions on this as looks great fun? ? ? ? ?

The only reason i really asked is because im kinda tempted to get HALO REACH when it comes out, but would like friends also to play with as i think it would be a good laugh, as i as i am a BIG fan of MW2 also.

im also going to get bad company 2 in next week or so as that looks to be a good game online aswell.

3 very different shooting games could be interesting. lol

well, i will not be buying Halo:Reach right away... but i do have BLUR and SPLIT Second lined up in my SITES. (BLUR is pre-ordered)

i'll wait for opinions on Halo:Reach

Im in the same boat here as sharper I used to play halo 3 all the time online but got so sick of the little kids on the game thinking that they are gods gift to gaming. as for COD4 i stopped playing that online becasue of constantly being kicked from rooms for not being a high enough rank and beating those higher ranked than I was etc... have never even attempted to play MW2 online because of that

BK .. i would give MW2 a GO . .. i suck pretty bad .. BUT it is an AWESOME game.

I never could get into Halo, i was terrible at COD4 and i'm only slightly better at MW2. If i was to choose though i'd say MW2 is the better game for the above reason, i can actually get a decent runout online. In COD4 i was always getting bagged when i spawned which really pissed me off, on MW2 i don't. One thing that get's to me in MW2 is, when i have a wee dude in the middle in my sights, some guy knifes or double taps me and i don't even know he's there. I feel like the guy in Jurassic Park when he's about to pop the Raptor and another one chomps him from the side lol.

Halo reach looks fantastic and i have hated Halo except for the original. COD is a glitchy campers paradise but i still play it so i can UMP people in the face. buy both and be happy

I stopped playing halo because of little children teabagging me all the time, and stopped playing MW2 because of how BAD i am at it.

either way, if i had to choose my favorite here is how i break it down...

Halo (all so far) has given me the Multiplayer experience. But MW2 gave me the best Single Player Experience.

Both are good, each offer different experiences

To be honest ive always been a halo person, it been my favourite series since Combat Evolved. I cant wait for this new one to come out, it looks a load of fun, i Just hope that the changed they have made have made the game less competitive and more friendly biased.

I have had hours of fun with halo, but to me it was in a different league to Call Of Duty and Battlefields, Its a really competitive game, there was a HUGE learning curve in halo, it took awhile to get really good at it, which i liked, it always meant there was room for improvement. The only game i can see that beats it for competitiveness is Counter Strike: Source, and that's not a bad game to be 2nd to!

Also the Halo story lines is always KICK ASS! and being able to make customisable maps with a well thought out extras and ranking systems i seriously cannot wait for Halo Reach! Its the perfect game for me and my Halo ODST Controller, Turtle Beach X41s and a 32" TV .. (but at that point hopefully i will have a set of Astro A40s and a pair of Gunnar Optiks to make sure i can play it 24/7 without any serious damage apart from no social life, and maybe a proper computer gaming corner in my house, which im going to get eventually!. Also i cant wait to get the Legendary edition!!

Okay now onto MW2...

-TO get alot of kills you need to camp!
Most of the kills on MW2 are from kill streaks... get a AC130 and you can easily rack up 20kills. It is designed for everyone, meaning beginners can do well. My cousin after having a xbox for 2weeks got a 32kill streak on MW2. Its also a game of luck, I've seen countless times (with me and other people) that they/I do fantastic in one game (40kills and less than 10deaths) yet the next match i barely get into double didgets, its to random and not a linear learning curve, 2weeks and you have most of what you need to do well.

to add my 4 cents ..
MW2 .. possibly the 2nd greatest fps i have played SP, the first was the half-life saga.( thats based on the whole series of each game)

MW2-MP. well its up there in the #3.

when sober i wont drop out of the top 2 of the game, after a few bevvies it depends on the map i might drop to 4th!
. but i would have to disagree with vertigo on the point of " to get a lot of kills you need to camp" .. i run and gun and SoH pro with SP on with a m4a1 or ak, i get to 3rd spot or higher . depending on gametype. SnD i go for wipe out rather than bomb.and the peeps i game with know this so they grab the bomb.

note: these are public servers not mlg/gb/privates id never enter an mlg or gb server as .. well its not my scene

i have only played the first halo but .. lets just say it didnt grab me.

now as for cs:s on pc .. i was playing cs at 1.2 and have played it through all its evolutions and have loved it.every time. office and dust were my best maps to get down tactically. but the COD series took over( i loved cod2 on pc), and then it took it too far ((imo) with the KSR's). i miss the days of just having to choose a gun . mp44 / kar98k .. . id love to go back but we cant .. the same way forza isnt built on the outrun engine .

give a game more bells and whistles .. it overshoots what its trying to be!

right about the the end of the post you can see the vodka bomb kicking in. it was a hard day at work and the little finlandia friend decided it wanted a volcano also. so no thought traffic through my head .. my apologies for the 2nd half of that post . . . i will take my penance by going hunting more pigeons on gta4 .. again i apologies.

what i ment to say was ... forza series is far more indepth than i understood. i like to turn console on , load game , play. like grid and soon to be blur. ok blur isnt simulation but the demo is helluva-lot-o-fun. and it was the demo of grid that got me into grid. i didnt mean to stand on thoroughbread racers toes. i just dont have what it takes as far as forza goes.

just to add m4a1 is one of the first guns you get in the game . id rate it very high on usability. add rds and you have an awsome gun in your hands. SoH pro makes it a beast. i think im up to 6 cents worth now

btw for equipment im only running on a 19" monitor @1440x900 with turtle beach x1's.

Ill be usng Turtle Beach x41s on a 32" HD TV, but it doesnt matter about the 1080p... 99% of 360 games are native in 720p and im guessing halo will be one of them

responding to audiofly..

i agree also with the "pick up and play" mentality. I love forza . . but it really in depth. there is a lot of time and patience that needs to go into this game. I LOVED GRID specifically because everyone was on a level playing field..and the focus was only to RACE.

I recently spoke with Angels about this....citing that I am angry with myself for trading GRID in. I should have kept it.

My hope is that a "GRID 2" is released .. and we can play both that and FORZA3.

---I am awaiting BLURS arrival...it will be a nice change of pace. An Arcadie racer with a MArioKart mindset...how can you go wrong.
